Face Lift – What to Expect

A beautiful-looking face is every woman’s desire; you long to have a young face with tight skin without any wrinkles. But having flawless skin after a certain age is almost impossible. With the growing advancement of technology, you can undergo surgical treatments to have youthful and supple skin. The surgical process of a facelift can help to bring back the glow on your skin.

What is the process of Facelift?

It is a complete surgical face treatment that tightens the skin, repositioning the fat by bringing changes into the tissue beneath the skin. The treatment has a direct and positive impact on the skin, giving it a lifted and enhanced look.

All skin aging effects like saggy skin, skin folds, or near the jawline get reshaped to have an attractive-looking face with a clean forehead, cheeks, brows, and eyelids. The facelift process takes 4-5 hours to complete, and you can go back home right after the surgery.

Expectations of Facelift surgery

After the facelift surgery, your face will swell and have bruises, which will subside in a few weeks. It would be best to keep your head a little higher using pillows to reduce facial swelling. This is an essential process of recovery that lets your face heal slowly at its pace.

You may experience numbness and face stiffness right after the facelifting procedure. The scars caused during the facelift surgery will take almost a year to fade.

Facial redness shall fade away in the first few hours of the surgery, provided you take good care of the skin.

Keeping the bandages and incisions dry is important as it will speed up the recovery process. It is expected that you will seriously follow the instructions provided by your doctor.

You must abstain from smoking, and drinking, avoid stress and not go under the direct sun to get long-lasting and smooth results.

The total life of facelift surgery is expected to be around 15 years.

For any signs of high inflammation, you must consult a doctor for any side effects.

Do not consume any over-the-counter medicine to avoid bleeding or increased bruising.

It would help if you discontinued eating green leafy vegetables during recovery. Also, consuming garlic is strictly prohibited for a few days.

If you get a fever above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, you must inform the doctor as it is a clear sign of an infection.

You must keep a close eye on the face for a few days after the Facelift. Keep checking for any major skin infections like increasing redness, spreading swelling, unbearable facial skin tightness, and developing pus around the treated area.

All these post-reactive effects are caused due to swelling. As swelling gets light, these skin reactions fade within two months and it will be quite visible to you. Before getting the surgery, you must be aware of all these possible reactions to avoid confusion. Once you succeed in post-facelift care and treatment, you will get a fresh face with glowing skin for years.
